HERO3+

Although I have one of the original GoPro cameras, I decided to upgrade to the HERO3+.  Now I will be ready for 2 camera views while in flight.  (perhaps I will build a chase cam similar to one of these overpriced rigs  http://www.wingmancam.com/Home.html )   After all the PPG videos I have watched...a helmet just doesn't look right without a camera on it.  75,84,44,0,B

You might hold off on wearing that thing until you become adept at landings. It could supply all the leverage needed to break your neck if you take a tumble.

Words based on experience using my GoPro. See if you can't rig a tether of some sort. I've had the bracket fail on my bike mount. Luckily I was in an area that the camera tumbled off to the side of the trail. The camera survived by the case was no longer of use because one of the pieces of the mount (where the screw goes through) broke.

Also, with the heat and dust inherent in your part of the world you will want to keep an eye on the adhesive attaching the camera to your helmet. Your environment is much tougher than most places in TX.

So, maybe some type of string, like paracord, to tether your camera to the helmet. I use a tether with mine when I use it on my kayak. It's saved it one time from being lost because of a failure of adhesive where I had the camera mounted.

I have the Hero 3 black. I also have a 2. The 2 is bulletproof, always works and very reliable. The 3 is constantly locking up, has battery issues, and is a general pain in the neck to use. I hope the 3+ is a better camera. I really feel like GoPro sold me a lemon.

czar...was thinking about a tether - a camera through the prop could ruin both.

I love the Wingman, it gives a totally different perspective (obviously).

+1 on the tether, especially since anything falling off could go backwards into the drive train. The wingman cam looks like part of a mortar round.
